In November 2021, I was volunteering at a charity event in Roche Caiman, Seychelles, organized by Beauty Empowerment Seychelles and the Miss Seychelles National Pageant. It was incredible to see the community come together for such a meaningful cause.

That day, I had the privilege of meeting the Nuns from Foyer de Nazareth orphanage and the boys in their care. The sound of their laughter on the beach was unforgettable—it was pure, joyful, and contagious. But as I learned more about their situation, that joy was quickly overshadowed by concern. These boys, so full of potential, face an uncertain future. At just 15 or 16, they have to leave the orphanage, often without a home, life skills, or the opportunity to continue their education.

It hit me deeply because I’ve been there. When I was young, my family lost everything in a house fire. We relied on the kindness of strangers to rebuild our lives—food stamps, donated clothes, and furniture from the Red Cross. But what stayed with me wasn’t the material help; it was the hope those people gave us. That hope changed everything for me.

Seeing those boys, I felt that same pull. I couldn’t just walk away. As I learned more, I knew I wanted to do more and that’s how White Feather Fund began—not as an organization, but as a promise. A promise to give these boys the same chance I was given: to feel supported, to dream big, and to create a future they can be proud of.

This journey has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It’s shown me the power of resilience, the strength of community, and how much we can achieve when we come together. But I couldn’t have done this alone. My partner, board members, and friends who have supported me through this difficult mission.
